Human Nature

I’ve learned a lot about people in the past week.

Some of us will reach out through our own grief and comfort others, pushing aside our own sadness to make someone else feel better.

Some of us are scared of connecting with others and push us away. Anything to avoid being hurt. Some of us don’t know what we want and send mixed messages.

Some of us are spontaneous. We think nothing of dropping everything and going long distances just because we miss our friends.

Friendship is the tie that binds, and that tie is strong even after time, distance and space. It is amazing how we can pick up where we left off—like time stopped for a moment.

People surprise me, thrill me, disappoint me . . . and never cease to amaze me.
